Rhytmic Subdivisions

Rhythmic Subdivisions sound complicated. And to be fair, they can be!

In music, you normally have 4 beats per bar. But you can divide those beats up in all kinds of ways! In this pdf I show you just some of the ways the beat can be divided. From Crotchets (1 beat note) to Semi-Quavers (6 notes per beat) and everything in between (watch out for the Quintuplets!!!)

Try playing each one to a metronome and note the picking directions. Don't worry if some are too difficult, focus on the ones you can for now and move on later.

After the subdivision examples I have written 2 riffs that mix and match some of them.

Enjoy!

......if this is your sort of thing.
